Rick & Morty Cuts Ties with Justin Roiland After Domestic Abuse Charges
The future of Rick & Morty is up in the air…
If you are an Adult Swim fan or even just a Rick & Morty fan, chances are, you know who Justin Roiland is.
But in case you don’t, Justin Roiland is a co-creator of the series and is the voice of both Rick & Morty.
According to the official statement released on the Rick & Morty Twitter account, Rick and Morty will continue with the cast and crew hard at work on Season 7 but not with Justin Roiland in tow.
“Adult Swim has ended its association with Justin Roiland. Rick and Morty will continue.” The talented and dedicated crew are hard at work on Season 7.”
However, what does that mean for the voices of the 2 main characters the entire series is based around? As of right now, nobody knows.
Earlier this month, NBC News, reported that Rick and Morty series co-creator Justin Roiland was charged with felony domestic violence in Orange County, California following an incident filed in 2020.
Justin was charged with one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit.
According to the filing, the incident took place in January 2020, to which Roiland pleaded not guilty on both counts.
This is truly sad all around and I really hope that Adult Swim can do this series right without him.
