Snoop Dogg Announces He Is Going to Stop Smoking and The World Is In A Frenzy

Well, I think it’s safe to say that we are all living in an alternate universe… And honestly, I did not have “Snoop Dogg stops smoking” on my BINGO card this year…

But here we are… Snoop Dogg has officially announced that he is going to stop smoking.

And in case you’re wondering, no it does not seem to be a prank.

People are truly confused because Snoop Dogg + Smoke just got together. They always have. It’s part of his persona.

So, for him to really be serious about this, it must be really, really hard on him.

In an announcement made via Instagram and Twitter, he said:

“After much consideration and conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time.”

While many fans are supportive of his decision, others are quick to notice that this seems to have never happened.

Some are wondering if Snoop’s social channels have been hacked, if it’s a mean joke or if it’s really legit…

One fan even commented saying:

“My man snoop giving up smoke is like vin Diesel giving up ya family”

But since his announcement yesterday, new finding by gosmokefree.co.uk reveals that online searches for ‘quit weed’ have skyrocketed to over ten times the normal average volume in one week.

Searches for ‘quit smoking’ have risen 492% worldwide in the last week, as well as ‘stop smoking weed’ rising 511%, as a result of Snoop Dogg issuing a statement of him giving up smoking. Snoop has encouraged fans to question how to give up smoking, with searches for ‘how to quit smoking’ exploding 308% worldwide in the past seven days.

That just goes to show you how much influence Snoop Dogg has on the smoking community.

I won’t lie, I know smoking is bad for you and I applaud his decision because it’s healthier for him and everyone around him.

And I wonder what Martha Stewart thinks about this… ya know, since they are good smoking buddies and all…

I guess I am just shocked and now, it seems like nothing is real anymore lol!
