Remember BOGO, you know, the Buy One Get One Deal at Starbucks; well, the popular coffee chain is temporarily pausing the promotion due to concerns regarding indoor crowds as COVID cases are rising across the country.

In a confirmation to Delish, Starbucks confirmed that happy hour in December will be nonexistent this month or on January 7th.

Reuters was the first to report the upsetting news about Starbucks temporarily discontinuing BOGO for this month and including January.

Typically during happy hour, coffee addicts can buy any handcrafted drink that is a size grande or larger and can get the next drink for free between the hours of 2-7 p.m.

However, with one closed door another one opens which means Starbucks is “temporarily moving to other promotions such as Double Star Days and will reassess future plans as we continue to monitor the situation.”

Starbucks employees were alerted with the new change on the first of this month via an internal memo according to Reuters which said,

“We will always prioritize your safety and in this moment, we all have a role and responsibility – as Starbucks partners – to protect each other, our customers and our business as we navigate this pandemic,” Williams wrote.
