When is the last time you’ve changed your underwear? I only ask because according to a new study, you might not be changing them often enough.

Study Says, People Wear The Same Underwear For 2 Days or More!

A study conducted by Tommy John surveyed more than 2,000 men and women to see how long they wear and keep their same underwear on.

What they found was that Americans in particular, don’t change their underwear often enough. In fact, 45% of Americans have claimed to wear their underwear for 2 days or longer.

Um, what?

I don’t know about you, but I feel gross not changing my underwear daily and often during, um, hot months, change them more often like twice a day.

No judgment here, I am just saying, I find that surprising so many don’t change their undies.

In the first of two studies, 1,000 respondents were asked about their daily underwear habits. According to the company, 45 percent “admitted to having worn the same pair of underwear for two or more days,” and 13 percent “claimed to have worn the same pair for a week or more.”

What is interesting is that women were found to be much cleaner than men, who are “2.5 times as likely as women to wear their underwear for a week or more,” according to the company.

The numbers amount to basically 1 out of every 2 Americans wear their same underwear for 2 days or longer.

So, think about it, if you are a family of 5, at least 2 of you wear underwear over and over.

*checks with my family to ask who does this*

And in case you thought it was quite harmless, think again.

The study also concluded that dirty underwear contain up to 10,000 living bacteria which totally gets the gross factor.

“It’s crucial to update your underwear wardrobe every six months to a year to ensure you’re protected from harmful infections and health risks. Women should be especially careful, as they’re more at risk than men to experience health issues due to unclean underwear. “

The literal bottom line (get it?) is change your underwear daily, keep them clean and ensure you have maintain proper hygiene down there to avoid any unwanted bacteria and infections.
