We Need to Talk About Netflix’s Newest True Crime Documentary Because It’s Freaky Good
I really feel like I have read a book in the past about this story, if it wasn’t this story it was something very similar and it is super disturbing.
Netflix has been killing it with the true crime shows lately, and I am obsessed.
This newest one has people calling it truly disturbing and it’s so good, it has an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes.
This is a 4 part documentary series and it’s all about the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, also referred to as FLDS.
The Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is a denomination of Mormonism and this particular sect was run by Warren Jeffs, a truly evil man.
This was a cult, and it’s so sad how people fall into these cults and then others grow up thinking this way of life is normal.
They all thought Warren Jeffs was a prophet and this life was the way to heaven.
Polygamy is a weird subject, some people enjoy this way of life, but in this case, people were misled and manipulated and this involved many underaged girls too.
They were led to believe that “the more wives and the more children you have, the higher in heaven you’ll be.”
Warren Jeffs had a total of 78 wives and 24 of those wives were underage… they were innocent children and they were brainwashed to think this was normal.
This was abuse.
The Netflix Documentary is called ‘Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey’ and it goes over the case, including Warren Jeff’s arrest and his conviction that happened in 2011.
