The Attorney For Gabby Petito’s Family Says Fiance Brian Laundrie ‘Is not missing, He is hiding’

Yup – exactly what my thoughts were when it was announced he was missing last night.

So, in case you missed it, Brian Laundrie was reported as missing as of late last night. His family actually told police they had not seen him since Tuesday of this past week.

From the beginning I thought that he wasn’t “missing” that he actually ran because he couldn’t face what he did or what he knows about Gabby.

The frustrating part of all of this is that the family failed to tell police for 3 days that Brian was missing and now he can be anywhere.

Police in North Port made a statement that expressed frustration that his family did not speak with investigators for nearly a week about Petito’s disappearance:

“We understand the community’s frustration, we are frustrated too. For six days, the North Port Police Department and the FBI have been pleading with the family to contact investigators regarding Brian’s Fiancé Gabby Petito. Friday is the first time they have spoken with investigators in detail,” the statement said.

“We’ve been trying all week to talk to his family, to talk to Brian, and now they’ve called us here on Friday, we’ve gone to the home, and they’re saying now they have not seen their son,” “So we are working through those details as we speak. It is another twist in this story.”

North Port police spokesperson Josh Taylor told CNN’s Chris Cuomo on Friday night.

And now that he was reported as missing and the FBI is looking for Gabby and Brian, the family attorney for Gabby’s family isn’t convinced he is just missing.

Richard Stafford, the attorney for the Petito family, said in a brief statement sent to CNN,

“All of Gabby’s family want the world to know that Brian is not missing, he is hiding. Gabby is missing.”

And honestly, they are not wrong. Eventually they’ll catch Brian but right now, finding Gabby should be the priority. And I am entirely convinced Brian’s family knows where he is.
