The Jury Did Not Reach A Verdict Today in The Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard Defamation Trial

News just broke that the jury has stopped deliberating today and a verdict has still not been reached in the Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard defamation trial.

Today marked the 2nd day for the jury’s deliberations in the Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard defamation trial.

Last Friday, the Jury began deliberating after hearing closing arguments from both Johnny’s and Amber’s legal teams.

After the closing arguments, Judge Penney Azcarate explained the process to the jury and even put two of them on standby notice (they were alternates).

She explained that if they didn’t reach a verdict, they’d continue Tuesday of next week (May 31, 2022) due to the weekend and holiday on Monday.

The jury then deliberated for nearly 2 hours before calling it quits ahead of the holiday weekend.

As of Tuesday, May 31st at 9 AM Virginia time, the jury has been deliberating once again.

The jury stopped deliberating at the closing time of the courthouse as the jury was told last week they would not be served dinner.

Did the jury reach a verdict in Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard defamation case?

No. As of Tuesday, May 31, 2022 the jury has not reached a verdict. They will begin deliberating once again as of Wednesday June 1, 2022 at 9 AM Virginia time.

When will the jury reach a verdict in the Johnny Depp trial?

Nobody knows. The jury has to reach a verdict after weighing all evidence presented. The deliberations will resume on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 and continue every day after until a verdict is reached.
