Universal Will Be Evaluating The Future of The Dr. Seuss Amusement Park After The Stopped Production of Some Books
After news broke yesterday that several books from Dr. Seuss’ collection will be pulled from book shelves due to racism and insensitive imagery, the fate of Seuss Landing Amusement Park is also up in the air.
For those of you who haven’t been, the amusement park located in Universal Orlando features shops and multiple play areas.
Many questions followed the news yesterday regarding any changes that might be coming to the amusement park.
“Seuss Landing continues to be very popular with our guests and we value our relationship with Seuss Enterprises,” a Universal spokesperson said in a statement shared with Spectrum News 13.

“We’ve removed the books from our shelves as they have asked and we’ll be evaluating our in-park experience too. But our guests can plan on continuing to be able to enjoy their favorite experiences at Seuss Landing,” a Universal spokesperson said in a statement shared with Spectrum News 13.

From what it looks like, the amusement park isn’t going anywhere with possibly a few minor changes here and there.
However, The Mulberry Street Store, the Mulberry Street sign, and a play area are currently themed after “If I Ran the Zoo”, a book that was recently pulled from shelves and so far, there has been no word regarding the future for the play areas.
It’s possible that Universal could remove and replace the related references to the six banned books, although time will tell for how the situation will be addressed in the future.
