This is not a drill, people.

Disney has officially slated Freaky Friday for a sequel, and I can’t freaking wait!

It has been 20 years since Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan burst onto the big screen as the mother / daughter duo who swap bodies, and I feel really old right now.

Of course, a Freaky Friday sequel wouldn’t be the same without Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, so you better bet they are going to be reprising their roles!

Here Is Everything We Know About The Freaky Friday Sequel

Elyse Hollander (Queens of the Stoned Age, It Was Romance) is going to be in charge of writing the script.

Disney will, once again, be at the production helm — just like with the 2003 Freaky Friday we know and love.

There is no word on when production is going to commence on filming of this Freaky Friday sequel.

Lindsay Lohan is currently pregnant, so unless she is pregnant in the film, they are going to have to wait a while before they start production.

While we don’t know much more about the film, it might be Jamie Lee Curtis who was at the helm of making this Freaky Friday sequel happen.

As I went around the world with Halloween Ends, people wanted to know if there was going to be another Freaky Friday. Something really touched a chord. When I came back, I called my friends at Disney and said, ‘It feels like there’s a movie to be made.’

We will definitely let you know as soon as more information on this Freaky Friday sequel becomes available — like a trailer.

Freaky Friday Fun Facts:

Did you know that the 2003 Freaky Friday film was based on Mary Rodgers’ 1972 novel of the same name.

It also wasn’t the first time Disney dipped its toes into producing a Freaky Friday film?

There was a Freaky Friday film made in 1976 that starred Jodie Foster, although the 2003 version is arguably much better.
