A ‘Wizard of Oz’ Theme Park Is Coming So Grab Your Ruby Red Slippers And Pack Your Bags
We’re off to see the wizard —
Grab your ruby red slippers, and get ready to dance down the yellow brick road, because a Wizard of Oz theme park is coming to North Carolina, and you aren’t going to want to miss it.
Now, I live in North Carolina, and I know many people who go to this festival — the Autumn at Oz Festival — every single year. They never miss it, and will tell you that everyone should go.
It only lasts for 3 weeks out of the year, so plan your road trips now!
The Autumn at Oz Festival features arts and crafts, food vendors, and more Wizard of Oz memorabilia than you’ve ever seen in one place.
While all the activities are reason enough to go, the star of the show is the immersive yellow brick road experience.
You start out of Dorothy’s family farm, experience a tornado, and end up in Munchkin Land. Then you make your way down the yellow brick road to the Emerald City.
Of course, along the way you are going to run into the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion, and the Tin Man.
In fact, you’ll see all your favorite characters — Dorothy, Toto, the Wicked Witch, and of course, Glenda the Good Witch.
But the moment you walk into Kansas, you’re living the story and then you go through the whole experience from the Scarecrow and the Lion and the Wicked Witch and the poppy field.
Sean Barrett, artistic director of the park and executive producer of Autumn at Oz
They are expecting over 20,000 people to come out for the Autumn at Oz Festival over the three weekends that it’s open.
So, be prepared for some crowds! It is all worth it, however. This experience is like nothing you’ve seen before.
We build the Emerald City from the ground up every year because the original no longer exists — then we have the finale show where Dorothy clicks her heels and goes home.

Now, don’t expect any traditional rides at the Autumn at Oz Festival. It’s all about the experience that you will forever remember.
