Amazon Is Raising The Price of Your Prime Membership Soon
Whelp – it was only a matter of time…
Amazon just announced that they are raising the price of their prime membership and it’s not just a dollar or two either.
Earlier today, Amazon announced they are raising the price of its annual Prime subscriptions from $119 to $139 per year in the United States.
The price of a monthly subscription will also increase from $12.99 to $14.99.
Why is Amazon Increasing The Price of Amazon Prime?
Amazon said it is increasing the price of prime memberships because of “expanded Prime membership benefits,”.
This means things like Prime Video content and expanded free same-day shipping, as well to compensate for the rising costs of labor and transportation in its distribution network.
While it may only seem like a small increase, every little increase across the board adds up and I’m just not sure how people are supposed to live with everything being so expensive.
When Will The Amazon Prime Membership Price Increase?
The change will go into effect on February 18 for new Prime members and after March 25 for existing members.
If you were looking for a reason to stop your Amazon Prime Membership, this may be it.
