Bookanista Thursday: The Liar Society by Lisa and Laura Roecker
Today I’m bringing you a special Bookanista review, because it’s not just a review of any ‘ol book…
It’s a review of LiLa’s book!
For those of you not in the know, Lisa and Lila Roecker are two of the amazing women behind WriteOnCon, which means I talk to them at least once twenty times a day.
So, when their book arrived on my doorstep last week–I out loud squeed. (And, so we’re clear here… I am not normally a squee-er, I only save that for the most special occasions.)
I dropped everything and started reading.
(Sorry housework, I’ll get to you later.)*
Okay, so that might not be the actual cover, apparently there’s a cover contest going on and they haven’t chosen the winner yet, but the pink haired girl is the obvious choice, don’t you agree?
So, I opened the book, and then I shut it. Because, CRAP–this is the FIRST EVER book from some of the WriteOnCon founders, and what if I hate it? What would I do then?
But then I got over that super quick, because I HAD to find out what happens when dead girls send emails. (Seriously, best premise ever? Yeah, totes.)
I don’t want to spoil it for you. I really don’t… but let me just say that when dead best friends send emails… it’s FREAKIN’ AWESOME. It’s crazy, it’s a little scary (but not too scary, because I don’t really do that kind of scary), it’s crazy hawt, and most importantly…
It’s GOOD. It’s really good. LiLa totally surprised me with stuff I didn’t see coming, the story kept me reading so much that I couldn’t put it down, and I fell in love with Kate. She’s an AMAZING character, the kind of character you HAVE to know more about.
One of the problems with reading books before they come out is, you feel like you’re spoiling it when you tell people what happens, but I loved this book so much that I want to tell EVERYONE ALL ABOUT IT. I won’t though… I won’t– just trust me that this is a MUST READ!
Go pre-order it RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND, and then as soon as it’s out, we can gossip ALL ABOUT it for hours and hours, okay?
LiLa– I love you both, and I really, truly genuinely LOVED THIS BOOK. You guys rock. Hell, you more than rock–you roll. 🙂
