Instagram is by far my all-time favorite app! I’ve been on it forever and even have more than one account, maybe I’m a bit addicted. I love seeing everyone’s photos and videos!
Well, today they are celebrating their birthday and allowing you to change your icon for the app!
It’s super simple to do! The first thing you need to do is update your Instagram app. I have an Android device, so I just went to the Play Store and clicked update.
Once you have updated the app, you’ll need to restart your phone. After you’ve restarted your phone open the Instagram app.
Once you are in the app, click to view your own profile page and content. From this page you will swipe right to expose a menu. Scroll down this menu all of the way to the bottom and click settings.
Once you are on the settings page this is where it got a little tricky for me! Place your finger at the top of your screen and drag it all of the ways down. You will see what is shown above, once you see the birthday present you will get a little animated celebration display!
On this page, you will see all of the different options to choose from, even the original icons dating back to 2010-2011. Those are the Original, Classic, Classic 2. I loved the original Polaroid icon!
They also added a ton of others to choose from including Codename, which was the icon for their prelaunch.
Others on the list are:
- Very Dark
One of these is sure to match your phone! I chose Aurora, but also really liked the Twilight one.
Once you have chosen your icon simply click on it. Mine said click to add automatically, but it didn’t work. So I just held my finger on it and was able to drag it to my home screen. Which one do you like best?
