We go to Costco for so many things.

Bulk everything — from cereal to toilet papertasty desserts, Starbucks egg bites, tires, jewelry, clothing, books, wine, easy Christmas gifts for the family, and we can’t forget those giant rotisserie chickens.

But, did you ever think you’d be able to buy actual gold bars from the giant membership warehouse store?

Well, think no more, because now you CAN actually buy gold bars from Costco.

They are so popular, these gold bars are selling out within hours as people are clamoring to get their hands on this universal currency.

I mean, it’s a smart idea to have a brick or two of gold stashed away in case a disaster happens, and the world is thrown into armageddon.

I guess it could happen.

How Do You Get The Gold Bars From Costco?

It’s not just as simple as going into your local Costco warehouse store to get your hands on some of these gold bars.

First, you have to actually be a Costco member — which you can do for as low as $60 per year.

Then, you can only get the gold bars from the Costco website, which you have to sign into with your membership number.

You also have to have quick fingers, and stalk the website. These bars are legit selling out almost as soon as they restock them online.

How Much Are The Gold Bars From Costco?

This is kind of a tricky question.

You have to actually log into the Costco website to verify your membership before you can check the price.

Then, the gold bars have to actually be in stock for you to see the current selling price.

But, according to Yahoo, these gold bars were selling for just shy of $1900 — which is just about in line with current gold exchange rates.

How Big Are The Gold Bars From Costco?

Don’t expect huge gold bricks, the kind you see in heist movies.

Those gold bricks would be hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The gold bars you can get from Costco are actually 1-ounce bricks — would you call them bricks?

They are also limiting customers to TWO gold bars per customer (not per transaction), so don’t expect to build your vast financial empire on these gold bars.

I suppose these gold bars would be good to have stashed away in a safe somewhere nice and secure in case of a zombie apocalypse.

It could happen.
