Demi Lovato’s New Music Video Tells A Story About Her Past and I Love Her Even More Now
Demi Lovato’s most recent music video was released this past Friday and it appears to be full of “easter eggs” from her past!
I don’t know about y’all, but I have always loved Demi Lovato.
She has always been extremely real in my opinion. In better words, she doesn’t pretend that her life is all rainbows and butterflies which really speaks to me.
Lately, she has been very open when voicing her struggles with her weight and addiction, and this song really speaks volumes to how much she has grown as a person over recent years!
Her new music video ‘I Love Me’ was recently released and I am absolutely obsessed with it! In fact, it’s made me love her more.
If you paid close attention while watching the music video you may have noticed a few “easter eggs”.
But if you missed them, don’t worry; I’ve got you covered!
At the beginning of the video, Demi battles her darker self (who appears to represent the lowest point in her struggle with addiction) Jujitsu style!
In past interviews, Demi has opened up about how much the sport has helped her cope with her addictive tendencies by providing a healthy outlet.
Either way, she has got some mad skills when it comes to jujitsu!
The new happier and healthier Demi reigned victorious over her darker past self.
Once Demi walks outside, the video shows glimpses of a mother with two young girls.
I can only assume that they are meant to represent Demi, her older sister Dallas and their mother Dianna.
The three are still very close and play a large role in Demi’s day to day life.
I really don’t think anyone who grew up watching ‘Camp Rock’ could miss this next “Easter Egg”!
Demi passes a girl strongly resembling her character ‘Mitchie’ from the movie ‘Camp Rock’ as well as three guys who strongly resemble ‘The Jonas Brothers’, who starred alongside her playing the band ‘Connect 3’.
‘Camp Rock’ was a huge part of Demi’s career taking off and this scene appears to pay tribute to the movie dilogy that really kicked off her career!
Following the ‘Camp Rock’ clip, Demi bumps into a trio that strongly resembles the more current appearance of the ‘Jonas Brothers’.
Closer to the end of the music video Demi walks by an ambulance that is preparing to transport a woman on a stretcher, she touches the woman and has a look of understanding on her face.
This clip acknowledges the stars struggle with addiction and her eventual overdose back in 2018.
Last but not least, near the end of the video a bride and groom run hand in hand across the street in front of Demi.
Rumor is that they are meant to represent the end of her six-year relationship with Wilmer Valderamma who is set to marry his girlfriend of one year, Amanda Pacheco.
