Disney World Is Officially Taking Reservations For July And I Am Ready

Y’all. Disney World has been closed since MARCH, and even though there is NO WAY I would have gone, it was somehow WORSE knowing that I COULDN’T go, even if I wanted to!

BUT, there is now Good News on the Disney front! Walt Disney World is starting to take reservations for after July 1st, and I’m booking a long weekend there NOW!

Disney World is a 12-hour car ride from my house — and that somehow seems just a little bit longer when there is no chance of breaching the gates of DW!!

We already knew that Disney is opening Disney Springs — formerly Downtown Disney — on May 20th.

Disney Springs will look a little — okay, a LOT — different for awhile, with face masks and social distancing guidelines enforced, but it will be open none-the-less.

The Disney World parks are also going to look a lot different for awhile, as well.

They are going to require that Cast Members AND guests wear face masks (How is that even going to work for the “face” characters?!?).

There will be handwashing and hand sanitizing stations located throughout the parks.

There will be limits on capacity allowed into the parks. Which is only a good thing, AMIRITE?!? Have you BEEN THERE before in July? MADHOUSE!

There is also talk of using the My Disney Experience app in place of a standard queue for the rides.

If there needs to be adjustments made to the July opening date — if the date needs to be pushed back, again — those that have already made reservations will be allowed to modify those reservations with no penalty.
