The titanic submersible that charges a pretty penny for tourists to view the famous shipwreck of the Titanic, has gone missing.

In fact, the Titanic tour sub is still missing, as the vessel lost connection with the mainland nearly two hours after departing deep into the ocean.

The vessel, which has been named the “Titan”, is currently carrying a handful of individuals who bought a seat on the submersible to view the wreckage from the Titanic ship long ago.

For an eight day tour, the Titan charges $250,000.

Since last Sunday, the submersible vessel has been missing in the Atlantic Ocean off Canada and was last seen off the coast of Newfoundland.

Five passengers are currently on-board including Hamish Harding, a British billionaire, Shahzada Dawood one of Pakistan’s richest men and his son, Suleman.

The vessel also has seated Paul-Henri Nargeolet, a former commander who served in the French Navy and the director of an underwater research company that currently owns the rights to the Titanic wreck.

Stockton Rush is also on-board the Titan who is the founder and CEO of OceanGate, the company that owns and operates the sub that has the five individuals trapped.

The Titan can currently reach a depth of 4,000 meters beneath the ocean which is slightly deeper than the Titanic wreck, making it possible to view the piece of history.

What’s even scarier is that the Titan is controlled with a video game controller, according to OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush who told CBS Sunday Morning’s David Pogue in a news segment earlier this year.

Rescue operations are currently still searching for the missing sub.

However, time is critical as the passengers’ oxygen will soon run out.

It is estimated they have enough oxygen to last until 2:30 PM EST on Thursday, June 22.

Our hearts go out to the families with missing members and we hope that rescue teams will find the five passengers very soon.
