Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade Will Be Held Virtually This Year
Sigh – another major event bites the dust. I mean, I sort of new this would happen. But it was just announced that Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade will be held virtually this year.
A few weeks back Macy’s announced the famous annual Thanksgiving Parade would go on as usual but with some new precautions in place due to the virus.
But now that we are just 2 months shy of the date, looks like plans have changed.
The New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said during a press conference Monday morning that the parade won’t be happening live this year.
“It will not be the same parade we’re used to,” he said. “It will be a different kind of event. They’re reinventing the event for this moment in history, and you will be able to feel the spirit and the joy of that day on television, online. Not a live parade, but something that will really give us that warmth and that great feeling that we have on Thanksgiving Day.”
As of right now, that is all we know. We are supposed to be hearing more from Macy’s later today so I will let you know as soon as I hear anything!
