Marble Mugs – Cute Gift Idea
If you’re looking for a cute DIY gift idea for someone who loves coffee, then you’re going to want to check out these Marble Mugs! They make for a great Mother’s or Father’s Day gift, a birthday gift for friends or family, or a thank you gift for your child’s teacher done in their school’s colors. It’s super simple, but the effect you get at the end is just too cool for how easy it is to make. You you can even get the kids involved in making them!
What You’ll Need to Make Marble Mugs:
- Ceramic mug
- Large bowl (one you don’t plan to eat out of again!)
- Nail polish (multiple colors – pick your favorites!)
- Warm water
- Toothpicks
- Wax paper
How to Make Marble Mugs:
Fill the bowl with warm water and slowly pour in the first color of nail polish. Start pouring it pretty close to the water’s edge, that way the drops won’t sink to the bottom.
Repeat the process with the rest of your nail polish colors.
Use a toothpick to swirl the colors together.
Dip the mug into the water at an angle. You don’t need to fully submerge it – you just want the nail polish to cling to the outside.
When you’re satisfied with the design, set the mug upside down on the wax paper to dry.
What a neat idea! This would be perfect for someone who loves nail polish and coffee/tea! Did you seal it after marbling? Does the polish hold up well?
