Expecting a toy, Dawn Paret’s daughter excitedly opened her McDonald’s Happy Meal.

But, she was met with a bit of a shock. Instead of a toy, the restaurant had given the child a box cutter and a pen.

Not the kind of thing that a little girl should be receiving in her meal.

She was a bit confused. But, it wasn’t a toy at all.

I can only imagine, as a parent, I would be shocked, a bit scared, and a whole lot pissed.

How Does A Box Cutter Wind Up In A McDonald’s Happy Meal?

You hear of things like this, but never did I think it truly could happen. The amount of worry and rage that went through me – I have never experienced.

Dawn Paret

There really is no excuse — none at all as to why a box cutter would wind up in a child’s meal box.

Dawn Paret questioned McDonald’s, searching for answers as to why or how this happened.

They didn’t give her much of a response. Their excuse was it was a “catch all” box, and was accidentally handed out.

You know, this explains why my McDonald’s order is wrong 97% of the time. Nobody is checking to make sure the meals are correct and as they should be.

Simply saying, a happy meal box is your “catch all” and someone must’ve accidentally grabbed that one is not the answer I want.

Dawn Paret

Dawn does not give a location for the McDonald’s that screwed up the Happy Meal so dangerously bad.

But, this is not an isolated event.

Back in May, Kayla Ann was at the McDonald’s at Grand River and Challis Road in Brighton, MI, and the same exact thing happened.

Her daughter was going through her Guardians of the Galaxy McDonald’s Happy Meal, and thought she had found a toy.

What a cool toy, right?!?

She handed it to her mom, but it wasn’t a toy. Not at all.

Kayla Ann posted her story on Facebook to warn other parents to check their child’s Happy Meals, because this incredibly inappropriate incident could easily happen to anyone.

McDonald’s, although tagged, hasn’t responded to her post.

So the moral of the story? Check your child’s food, because you never know when there is going to be a very dangerous mistake. Better you find it first, instead of your little.
