Netflix has officially picked up the rights to make new movies and shows based on the Narnia series, and I can’t wait!!

Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter, we know that Matthew Aldrich, the genius who co-writer Pixar’s Coco, has been plucked up to oversee Netflix’s version of The Chronicles of Narnia series.

Netflix has 7 Narnia books to work with: The Magician’s Nephew; The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe; Prince Caspian; The Horse and His Boy; The Voyage of The Dawn Treader; The Silver Chair; and The Last Battle.

We don’t exactly know what Netflix has up its sleeve when it comes to Narnia.

There is a possibility we could be looking at both feature-length films and series based on the über popular fantasy series.

This is by no means the first time that we have been to the land of Narnia outside of the books.

The series has previously been adapted into stage plays, TV shows, radio programs, and, of course, multiple films.

The most recent — and by far the most expensive — adaptation of the Narnia series happened in the 2000s when Disney took us to Narnia in a trio of massively popular films.

Hold on to your seatbelts, because it’s going to be a fun ride when we head back to Narnia with Netflix.

According to Netflix Life, besides feature-length films, we are looking down the barrel of at least one TV series based on the Narnia series.

Gah! I’m getting series chills of the White Witch variety.

We will let you know as soon as we get more information on this Netflix endeavor into Narnia.
