Who Is This New Blippi, And What Happened To The Old One?

If your kids are addicted to the larger-than-life character that is Blippi, you may have noticed Blippi looks just a little different.

Stevin John, the creator of Blippi, is apparently needing a little help in the world of Blippi, so there is now a second Blippi in town.

This all started when parents were ENRAGED that Stevin wasn’t going to be showing up as his famous character in the live Blippi shows.

People had already bought their tickets and everything, and then they found out Blippi was being swapped for a stage actor that wasn’t Stevin — like kids wouldn’t notice that?!?

I mean sure, Blippi would still be acting over the top, and wearing his trademark orange eyeglasses, hat, bowtie and suspenders, but people thought they were paying for Stevin, and instead they were getting an imposter of sorts.

Steven has embodied the persona that is Blippi since 2014, and even though this stage actor — Clayton Grimm — kinda looks similar to Blippi, it’s just not the same thing.

In a move that is reminiscent of when Blue’s Clues lost Steve, this week saw Grimm show up as Blippi in a new Learn with Blippi show on Saturday morning.

Due to popular demand we are bringing more Blippi from The Live Show to you all! ? Don’t miss the launch of ‘Learn with Blippi’ tomorrow on Blippi’s YouTube channel. Who’s ready!?

Fans and parents immediately chimed in — as if no one would notice.

It turns out — there are now going to be TWO Blippis.

Blippi, Stevin John, isn’t going anywhere. John will continue to bounce and beep his way through family-friendly attractions in videos to come, with Grimm — helming a set-based format that’s more in line with the Blippi stage show, which will resume touring this summer.

In order to bring out more Blippi content, they are going to split the programming between the TWO Blippis.

Blippi

I mean, shouldn’t they call him Bloppi or Flippi or something different? Having two different Blippis is not going to fly with kids or parents.

What do you think about this new addition to the world of Blippi?

  1. My daughters 4, 5 this year …. I’m 29.
My daughters dad pointed out the difference which lead me to Google searching for answers because after years of watching Blippi, the only thing I noticed was a small difference in his voice and his shoes ….. so as for these 2+ aged kids noticing …. kind of unbelievable, he looks the same , acts the same …. my daughter has no issue watching him…. still as intrigued with this blip as she was the last ….

    1. @Kaitlynn, yeah right lol. *sarcasm*

We don’t watch Blippi faithfully and we all noticed the difference. I could imagine that those that do watch him faithfully can see the difference as well. No need to lie lol.

  2. The new Blippi is fantastic!! He is doing a great job!! And honestly, my kids are more interested on the content they offer than on the character itself.

  3. Sorry but the original Blippi creeped me right out, I like the new toned down second Blippi as a parent anyway.

    1. @Bec, I agree! The old Blippi gave me anxiety! I really like the new Blippi and I can actually sit and watch with my son. He’s two and it didn’t bother him at all

  4. My daughter doesn’t seem to care, i just think the new blippi does a terrible job but if my daughter doesn’t care im ok with it

  5. If your kids noticed the difference then you’re probably letting the screen time babysit them. My daughter (5) didn’t notice the difference at all. She’s been watching him for years but only gets minimal screen time a day if she even asks for it. Calm down mommas.

  6. My grandson is 2, yes he noticed, no he doesn’t care. We do prefer the new blippi actor to the old though.

  7. Honestly my son doesn’t care at all. Maybe bc he was younger when this change happened either way he seems just as happy with the new one as he was with the old one. Shouldn’t be that huge of a deal. Yeah I get it but good life lesson for kids. Life changes n this is just a small really not very important change to their lives concidering how many other life changes they will experience. Instead of focusing on how “horrible” the change is use it to teach he kids something important and move on. The bigger deal the parents make the bigger deal ur kids will make of it. Just my opinion.

  8. Parents are really upset over THIS? How sad. If you’re angry over something as small as this then you haven’t just failed as a parent, you’ve failed as a person. “But my kids have noticed and they aren’t happy!” oh give me a break 🤦🏻‍♀️

    1. @NEW BLIPPI, OLD BLIPPI, WHO CARES?, Some of us don’t allow our kids to watch tv, my son only watches educational shows on Youtube & Netflix. He’s allowed to choose from a variety I’ve picked out for him & when this “new” blippi just showed up he was confused & wasn’t very interested. Anyone who claims kids don’t notice the character & only watch for “content” is a schmuck. OF COURSE kids watch & notice characters! If my son wants to watch this new guy he’s more than welcome to but so far when he searches through blippi shows he only watches the ones with the original Blippi.

  9. Let’s not forget old Blippi also pooped on his friend’s butt for views

    1. @Bob,

I was figuring this was the real reason Netflix has a different Blippi.

  10. My grandson noticed right away and he is 2. You can fool kids now they are way to smart. Someone had the right idea you should have made him a cousin, twin or his younger brother. Great idea!!!!

  11. My 2 yr old saw the new Blippi for the first time yesterday and he stood there in front of the TV watching him then just walked off a few minutes later he came back looked at me looked at the TV said “no no no” and walked off. I turned it to the regular Blippi he sit down and watched the show. A 2 yr old knew the difference so what does that tell you!!!!!

  12. If your kids are upset by this, you have failed as a parent.

    1. @Jw, not hardly! A child not being fooled by this does not mean I have failed as a parent! Just that I’ve raised kids who are too smart for you to pull the wool over their eyes! The fact that you would even suggest it shows what a horrible person you are! And as for me and my house the new blippi is a no no and this should of been handled differently!

  13. Kids noticed right away said “That’s not Blippi”!🤥 And they are 2 and 4 you sure don’t know kids if you thought you could slip this by on them🙄. Just be up from and call the second one some other name and he can be Blippi’s brother🤷🏻‍♀️

  14. You know what, how can one man do everything on his own? Maybe he is getting to big to handel everything by him self. I get it. We live in Norway. And my daughter loves him. People should stopp being so judge mental against Blippi. At some point he will need a backup actor. Ether way, my daughter doesn’t care.

    1. @Jw, I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that him and his wife were expecting so as a new dad or a soon to be new dad, yeah he needs help. My daughter didn’t notice but she wouldn’t care. She gets very little screen time these days anyways. Can’t blame the guy for being a human being.

  15. I asked my 7 had old boy who has been watching Blippi for most of his life. He doesn’t care that there are two Blippis as long as the character is the same. He actually prefers the newer Blippi.

  16. I agree with the majority that if Blippi needs to share some responsibility and lighten his load a bit, let him do it, but don’t stage set the show and change it completely! The whole Blippi show is him traveling to different places to teach kids about different things not show them a wooden firetruck with its tires half recessed into the ground and toy controls on a stage set! And had I bought Blippi show tix and it wasn’t actually Blippi I’d be ticked! Otherwise I don’t mind another Blippi at all.

  17. When you go to see Santa… it isn’t the same Santa over and over again … do your kids notice? Also, the princesses — they alll look different depending where you go! Let them enjoy the magic of the Blippi persona. Blippi is a person, married with a child (or on the way.) Breathe people.

    1. @Joann, well said. I totally agree with ur statements. My daughter can’t even understand what he is saying. We from Norway. And she is loving the persona. If the guy is a bit different. She loves his childish acting. And what he does. His persona. Not how he looks. So what if he looks a bit different.

  18. I noticed but my kids didn’t- parents need to chill- the guy just needs a break! If you don’t like the new BLIPPI, get your kids off the screen and go outside.

    1. @C Lebarron, EXACTLY!!! My kid argued with me saying this was the same Blippi lol Anyone genuinely upset about this needs to go outside and get some fresh air.

  19. I wonder if the grown ups that are complaining reacted the same way after every new Batman movie that came out?…”That’s not Michael Keaton! Where’s the real Batman!”

  20. My daughter doesn’t have a care for it. We love it just as much. It is strange though ha

  21. You right I’m watching with my daughter and wife and I say that’s not blippi and so I went to number answers of questions. Google should’ve gave him a different name.

  22. Shouldn’t it be Lippi? Can’t you tell by the lips?
