Well here’s something I thought only happened in other countries!!

We are always hearing stories about slithering serpents from people in OTHER countries.

For instance, this family who found a Snake In Their Christmas Tree. Or, this HUGE snake that was Found In The Dominican Rainforest.

But, this story comes straight from the good ol’ U.S. of A.

Apparently Brunswick, Georgia also has big a** snakes. *Note To Self: Georgia is a NOPE for vacay*

Workers at a Sonic fast food chain were going about their day — making Cherry Limeades and cooking Tater Tots like they do — when someone had the keen sense to look behind the deep fryer.

What they found sent every single one of them straight out to the parking lot to await instructions.

They immediately called for help, because there was a big SNAKE inside the store!

On the phone, they had described the culprit as brown with diamonds on its back.

My first thought was, “OMG. They had a Western Diamondback Rattlesnake in that store.

I mean, there are so many different snakes it could have been — everything from a venomous nope rope to non-harmful slithering serpent.

It could have been the scary Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, its cousin the Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake, a Diamondback Water Snake, or even the Rat Snake, the Gopher Snake, or many more.

Thank the Good Lord, when Lt. Matthew Wilson from the Brunswick Police Department showed up, he found the snake to be totally non venomous.

When I saw it, I could tell it was just a ball python and not a rattlesnake.

The police officer was able to remove the big ol’ nopey nope, and he was even nice enough to find it a new home.

I would have taken the thing to the zoo or something. (I guess I really don’t know what to do with rogue snakes) Lt. Wilson gave the ball python to a friend who has a terrarium big enough to house the reptile.

Nobody knows exactly where the snake came from, but Lt. Wilson said it was probably a pet.

It could be somebody just didn’t think through the consequences of a large snake as a pet — Some people have regrets later on and just release things. It is definitely irresponsible

Odds are, the thing went inside while a worker had the back door open. They were probably taking out trash, and the snake was looking for somewhere a bit warmer to hang out.

All I know — it’s a good thing I am not the one who found the thing. I’m clumsy, and I would have tripped on my feet while trying to run as fast as I could to the next state over.
