Target Is Planning To Never Be Open Again On Thanksgiving Day and Honestly, Good For Them
When Covid-19 hit last year, almost every store was closed on Thanksgiving day, leaving the Black Friday shopping to…well, Friday.
It forced families to spend more time together, rather than start their shopping a day early. (But let’s face it, we were all online getting our fix…)
Target announced this Monday, that they no longer plan on being open on Thanksgiving…ever. And I’m totally ok with that. We can wait a day so people can be with their families
“What started as a temporary measure driven by the pandemic is now our new standard — one that recognizes our ability to deliver on our guests’ holiday wishes both within and well beyond store hours.”
Target CEO Brian Cornell
If you still want to shop on Thursday, the Black Friday deals start earlier in the week (there’s some up now!), and you can either online purchase or wait until Friday to shop in person.
But I am 100% on board for letting the Target employees be with their family instead of dealing with us crazy shoppers. Their mental health is more important than our discounted items. You go Target.
