The Disney Live-Action ‘Aladdin’ Is Getting A Sequel And I Can’t Wait
Please tell me you went and saw the Live-Action Aladdin in Theaters! It was too fun to miss!
Good news for all the Aladdin lovers out there. They are making a SEQUEL to the original Life-Action flick we all enjoyed last year! YAY!
Not a whole ton of information is known about the sequel — except it has been confirmed.
Like, there isn’t even a SCRIPT yet! There have been a TON of pitches tossed around, and Disney wanted to make sure they got it PERFECT.
They decided on hiring Oscar-nominated writers John Gatins and Andrea Berloff. Disney thought that Gatins and Berloff had the best pitch idea, and the script is “in process,” but we have NO IDEA what the actual Film will look like, yet.
It is also not known if Will Smith, Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott will be back for the sequel. I would HOPE so, but you just never know!
Once they hammer out the script, and make sure it is PERFECT, they will then take it to the actors.
There is ALSO no word on if Guy Ritchie will be back for this new Aladdin Sequel. I guess we’ll just have to wait patiently, and see.
Now, the original ANIMATED Aladdin DID have a sequel that went straight to DVD. I’m just going to save you the agony — it sucked.
This new Live-Action film will NOT be a remake of this sequel. It will be its own entity, and I’m so dang happy about this!
This Live-Action version will also be played in theaters. It won’t be straight to DVD, or made for Disney+ –like Lady & The Tramp. So, that’s a plus!
