Since there have been princess, little girls — and boys — have dreamed of dressing up in sparkly dresses, wearing tiaras, putting on makeup, and becoming these princesses.

There is NO OTHER princess like the Disney princess. A symbol of magical grace, charm, beauty, and strength, to be a Disney princess is the magnum opus in the princess world.

Why is it, though, that only girls think they can dress up all frilly and beautiful. Boys Can Be Princesses, Too!

Photographer, Kitty Wolf, has teamed up with the childrens’ party company, Princesscapades Princess Parties, to bring us the The Boys Can Be Princesses, Too project. It is based out of Chicago, and I kinda wished I lived closer.

(These photos are) a series of photos of little boys dressed as their favorite princesses — together with their favorite princesses! The photos highlight the pure happiness and joy the boys feel when wearing a dress and serve as a reminder that our own hang-ups, assumptions and judgements should never get in the way of a child’s innocent enjoyment and imaginative fun.

You can just see the look of pure bliss on the faces of these little boys as they get to meet AND BECOME their favorite princesses.

Kitty Wolf, the founder of Boys Can Be Princesses Too, had the idea that, “putting on a princess dress doesn’t make a boy a girl anymore than putting on a shell makes them a real ninja turtle.”

She doesn’t think imaginative play should be limited by gender. Pretend play is just that. She thinks children’s imaginations should bloom, instead of being stifled by what society says these kids should dream.

What a beautiful soul! I think she might just be my new spirit animal. I want to be like her when I grow up.
