Cover your heads and check your bodies, because Dodgeball is headed back to theaters!

That’s right, my friends. A Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story sequel is in the works, and I’m ready to laugh until my sides hurt.

You might remember, the original Dodgeball — way back in 2004 — was about a struggling gym owner (Vine Vaughn) who was trying to find a way to save his failing gym.

He enters a dodgeball tournament in Las Vegas and goes up against his rival, White Goodman (Ben Stiller), where he has a chance to win the grand prize and save his gym from going out of business.

The OG Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story saw performances from Christine Taylor, Stephen Root, Alan Tudyk, Joel David Moore, Justin Long, and Rip Torn — who we lost in 2019.

Of course I would love to do it and I hope that it ends up happening, but I think Ben is a little, what he told me on that podcast was that he’s a little trepidatious about doing a sequel to something so beloved, something that people enjoy so much.

Now, the Dodgeball project is in early development at 20th Century Studios, but it’s happening!

Get excited, because Vince Vaughn will, in fact, be returning as Peter LaFleur.

No, we don’t yet know if Ben Stiller or any of the other cast will be returning, but it’s bound to be hilarious none-the-less, right?

We also don’t know much — well, anything, actually — about the plot, except that this Dodgeball sequel will follow the story of Peter LaFleur, the prize-winning gym owner.

It is confirmed, however, that Jordan VanDina (What Would Diplo Do?,The Binge, Animaniacs) will be working on the script.

You know that we will let you know as soon as more info comes out about the project — including a trailer!

What do you think? Are you as excited as I am for a Dodgeball sequel?
