Disney has released the recipe for their iconic CHURRO, and I’m beyond giddy.

I don’t know about you, but I have been DREAMING of a vacation, and tops on that list, of course, is Disney World!

I have been doing everything I can to “pretend” like I’m there. I’ve put on my VR headset, and taken virtual “rides” on some of my favorite Disney Attractions, I’ve watch HOURS of Disney parades on YouTube, and I’ve spent the better part of my days listening to podcasts that recreate the SOUNDS of Disney.

Well, thanks to Disney, themselves, I can now try my hand at recreating, perhaps the most ICONIC of the Disney foods, the Disney Churro!! Yum! Talk about feeling like I’m there!

Here’s what you need to make a Disney Churro:

  • 1 Cup Water
  • 4 Ounces of Butter
  • 1/3 Teaspoon of Salt
  • 1/4 Teaspoon of Cinnamon
  • 1 1/4 Cups Flour
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 Cups of Oil
  • 1 1/2 Cups of Cinnamon Sugar Mix

Here’s how you make the Disney Churros — in THIS case we are making Churro Bites:

Add Water, Butter, Salt, and Cinnamon to pan, and bring to a rolling boil.

Add Flour, and reduce heat to low. Stir the vigorously — that means a lot, and fast — until it forms a doughy ball.

Remove from heat, and let the mixture “rest” about 6 minutes.

Add the Eggs — one at a time — stirring in between adding each Egg. Stir until it’s well combined.

Heat the Oil in a skillet until it reaches 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Then, you want to spoon the dough into a piping bag.

Use the piping bag to drop about one inch pieces into the hot oil — DON’T BURN YOURSELF, AND DON’T LEAVE THE OIL UNATTENDED.

Fry these Churro Bites until they are golden brown.

Drain these little fried pieces of heaven on a paper towel.

Roll your little Churro Bites in a Cinnamon Sugar Mixture.

Enjoy them with a melted chocolate sauce — or if you’re like me — just eat them plain. YUM!

Now, grab your mickey ears, turn on a Disney Podcast, close your eyes, and pretend you are walking through Frontier Land. Life is good.
