First ‘Elvis’ Movie Trailer Offers a Peek Inside The Life of The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll
I grew up listening to Elvis Presley and watching his movies.
The love for his music has stuck with me through my entire life and I am so excited about this new film from Baz Luhrmann.
The ‘Elvis’ Biopic is from Warner Bros and they recently released the first trailer and my heart did a little pitter-patter!
Austin Butler portrays Elvis in the film and while he isn’t a dead ringer for the star, he pretty much nails the look, style, movements, and feelings…
Tom Hanks narrates the film as Colonel Tom Parker as well as plays the role in the movie.
The great storytellers, like Shakespeare, they didn’t really do biographies. What they did was take a life and use a life as a canvas to explore a bigger idea. The life of Elvis could not be a better canvas in which to explore America in the ’50s and ’60s. That life is culturally and socially at the center of the ’50s, ’60s, and even the ’70s.
Baz Luhrmann
In the trailer, you can see that it starts off with Elvis as a child living in Tennessee and his introduction to the church and the inspiration for his music style.
The trailer also shows his connection with the Civil Rights movement.
Getting to explore the humanity of somebody who’s become the wallpaper of society in a way. He’s such an icon and held up to superhuman status, so to get to explore that for years now and learn why he was the way that he was and find the human within that icon, that was such a joy. I could do it for the rest of my life.
Austin Butler
Austin Butler actually is singing in the movie and on some songs they mixed Elvis’s voice with Austin’s voice.
‘Elvis’ releases in theaters June 24th, 2022, and I can not wait!
