He passed away today at age 80 from natural causes in his own home in Houston Texas. Johnny Nash led quite a long fullfilled life!
He began his career back in the 1950s when he was only 17 years old. Then in the 1960’s, he partnered up with Danny Sims to form JAD Records. They were the ones to sign Bob Marley! Johnny was an American reggae and Pop music singer and songwriter.
Johnny loved reggae. And he loved Bob and the guys. He taught Bob how to sing on the mic, and they taught Johnny how to play the reggae rhythm.Danny Sims told the Houston Chronicle in 2012.
Johnny Nash also sang the opening theme song for cartoon series “The Mighty Hercules,” which aired in the 1960’s.
