Jon Favreau Just Announced The Mandalorian Season 2 Release Date and I’m Freaking Out
Have you been missing the cuteness of Baby Yoda? I think we’re all due for something to make us smile a bit right? This has been one tough year and I sincerely hope things get better soon.
The pandemic halted a lot of television shows and movie production with fear of the spread. A lot of dates got pushed out farther than were originally planned for and I know that makes y’all sad. But, we have news!
The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau has confirmed at the ATX TV festival that the principal photography has already wrapped for Season Two!
This means it was finished in time for an on-time release! It will still debut the new season in October 2020 on Disney+ as planned.
We were lucky enough to have finished photography before the lockdown, so thanks to how technology-forward Lucasfilm and ILM are, we’ve been able to do all the editing visual effects remotely… It will be available as planned on Disney+ in October. It will be building on hopefully what people loved from the first season. It doesn’t feel like the next season, it feels like work continuing. I hope people are having as much seeing it as we are having making it.
Favreau shared during a roundtable at the event featuring fellow directors Dave Filoni, Deborah Chow, Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Rick Famuyiwa, which was conducted by Anthony Breznican
The first season was such a huge hit! Every day when I would get online I would see everyone talking about it and how they could not wait for more. Baby Yoda (The Child) merchandise was flying off shelves. Y’all couldn’t get enough of that little critter!
So here you go guys, are you ready? I am super shocked that they finished on time, what a year it has been! We are ready for it!
