This Mom Sent Out A Brutally Honest Invite For Her Kids’ Birthday Party And She’s My Hero

My kids have been invited to a lot of birthday parties in their young existences, and they are usually themed: Spider-Man, Princess, Captain America, Mario, Minnie Mouse, Tea Party, etc.

They are usually a bit overwhelming — especially for me, who is a self-proclaimed mess at all things proper parenting.

Oh, don’t get me wrong. I do all the parenting things.

My kids are fed. They have clothes. They get to school — not always on time. We do fun things. We even have birthday parties — usually at some place like Build-A-Bear where everything is done for you.

But, there’s nothing more terrifying — to me, anyway — than going to a kid’s party with a mom who totally has it all together.

I mean, all the decorations, all the games and activities, the perfect cake, the goodie bags. It’s exhausting and quite a bit intimidating.

There is one mom, however, who is going viral for her twins’ hilarious birthday party invite, and I think I love her.

She doesn’t hold back letting everyone know that she is definitely not one of those Pinterest moms who has it all together.

We learned about this gem of an invite when one mom on TikTok — Natalie LeClaire — went through her 5 year old’s backpack after school one day.

Natalie loved the invite so much, she decided to share it with the world — of TikTok, anyway.

This event is brought to you by Pinterest fails and the Dollar Store so please set your expectations appropriately.

I love her already. I can tell I’m going to really dig this invite!

As requested the theme will be “unicorns but with rainbows and maybe bats but there should be princesses and also Minnie and we need dancing lights,” so … dress accordingly.

This definitely sounds like something my kids would ask for. LOL!!

Please pack a bathing suit, sunscreen, puddle jumpers etc. in case your sweet baby angels decide our original plan sucks and the pool would be a better time.

Right?!? Realistic parenting for planning a realistic 5 year old party.

If you would like to drop off and run, we support that entirely.

OMG! That’s one thing that always stresses me out. Do they expect me to stay? Should I leave? I don’t know what to do!

If you want to stay, we will provide “adult juice” and deny any offers to help to be polite but deep down want the support.

Carys Roberts

I would totally go to this party! I’d even let my kids come. LOL!!

I mean, do we have to have an actual invite to show up? I don’t want to miss this one!

You can see Natalie’s full TikTok about the birthday party invitation HERE.
