‘Work It’ Is Netflix’s New Dance Comedy Show And I’m Obsessed
Have y’all seen the new movie on Netflix, Work It?
It’s like the movie Step Up for a new generation.
I’m not showing my age, am I?
I can go even older than that! It’s like a Save The Last Dance for 2020.
I LOVE films like this! It’s a teen dance rom-com. Is it completely corny and absolutely predictable. Probably. Is it totally fabulous?? Absolutely. Will I be watching it over and over again? Damn straight!
It stars Sabrina Carpenter, who you may know from the Disney Channel show, Girl Meets World. She has also lent her voice talents to several Disney channel projects — Sofia the First and Mickey Mouse Mixed-Up Adventures.
In Work It, Sabrina plays a clumsy teen, Quinn, who is trying to get into college. The only problem is, she can’t get into her dream college without winning a dance competition.
Quinn tries to get herself on the best dance team in school — the team that’s supposed to win it all. The only thing is, she’s not any good.
She figures the ONLY way she can get in the competition is to start her OWN dance team, but that’s easier said than done.
Bring on the ragtag group of teens, put together by Quinn, who are going to challenge the hottest dance teams around, and try to win it all.
I wonder what will happen.
There’s lots of great dancing, tons of fun music, and plenty of hilarious teen drama.
And, the best news of all, if you have a Netflix account, you can watch it RIGHT NOW!!
This movie just happens to be brought to you by the same studio that brought us The Kissing Booth and To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, so you know it will be lit. (Do the kids still say lit?)
