There were a couple years there where my daughter was obsessed with a certain book series that caters to middle school kiddos.

It made Christmas shopping super simple, ya know what I’m saying?

There’s a movie that just dropped onto Disney+, and — although she is now embarrassed to admit she likes it — my daughter has already watched it twice.

This movie is about Greg. He is trying to remain in Santa’s good graces, so that he can stay on Santa’s good list this Christmas season.

If you’re good, Santa brings you what you want, right?!?

Things get dicey when Greg’s mom introduces the family to Elfrendo — a creepy as heck doll that Greg’s great grandma made when his mom was a little girl.

Much like the Elf on the Shelf, Elfrendo watches everything Greg and his family do, and reports it all back to Santa.

Elfrendo brings trouble for Greg, because he is trying to get the hottest new gaming system for Christmas.

If Elfrendo rats him out to the big guy, Greg will never get what he wants for the holiday season.

Trying to remain “good,” Greg ropes his friend Rowley into building a snowman.

They end up making a ginormous snowball that rips up the lawn, and goes rogue down the street, smashing into a snowplow.

Greg knows he will never be on the good list if anyone finds out about his part in the snowball incident, so he spends the entire movie trying to hide it.

I will admit, this movie is a tad bit slow for adults — but my daughter, who has read ALL the “Diary Of A Wimpy Kid” books, loved it.

You can see the trailer for “Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever” below, and stream it now on Disney+.
