Rubber sidewalks coming to a city near you?

Rubber sidewalks, eh? I wonder what they feel like? Probably like a track!
D.C. tests rubber sidewalks, apparently 10 U.S. cities total have them installed in limited quantities. The apparently last 3x longer, but cost 3x as much as cement currently. They work better with nearby trees however, and can be removed to service land underneath them. How will they do with the snow shovel though?
