Today is the day – the jury has a verdict in the Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard defamation case.
While nearly the entire world has been anxiously awaited this day, people cannot help but notice Johnny Depp is nowhere to be found in the courtroom.
There’s actually a very good reason as to why Johnny Depp is not present at the verdict hearing…
According to reports, Johnny Depp had made prior commitments long before he even knew the dates of his trial.
He made commitments to be in the U.K. to be on stage playing music with Jeff Beck.
Therefore, he has been in the U.K. these past few days as part of that committment.
“Due to previously scheduled work commitments made before the trial, Mr. Depp will not be physically present for today’s 3pm verdict and will be watching from the United Kingdom,” a source close to the Hollywood Vampires guitarist told Deadline.
People truly thought the jury would take until Thursday or Friday morning to reach a verdict, perhaps he thought this as well.
Nonetheless, that is why Johnny Depp is not present in court today as a verdict is read by the jury in his defamation case against Amber Heard.
