The President Says Another Round Of Stimulus Checks Are Coming. Here’s What We Know.
President Trump has said that he is open to the idea of another round of stimulus checks.
His EXACT words to Joe St. George, Scripps’ Washington correspondent were: “We will be doing another stimulus package. It’ll be very good, it’ll be very generous.”
I was so relieved when the government announced they were doing stimulus checks, back in March. But, I’m going to be honest, that check was pretty much gone before it hit my bank.
Even if with business closing, and work shutting down during quarantine, the bills kept piling up. Some people got to spend their stimulus check on fun things, WE spent our stimulus check on rent. Yippee.
I’m not knocking it. I’m super-happy we got anything at all. We would have drowned, if we hadn’t been granted the extra funds right when we needed them!
But, sadly, now that money is gone, and we have to scramble to find ways to come up with the money for bills.
On an unrelated note: does anyone want a used car that doesn’t really run? I joke, I joke.
Trump was asked how much money could possibly receive in this next stimulus package. His answer was a bit more vague.
He just said, “You’ll find out about it.” He went on to say that we should hear about it sometime soon — within the next couple weeks.
Way back in May (can you believe that was only last month?!?), The House of Representatives passed the HEROES Act, which was a very generous package that would have included more direct payments to people in the U.S.
The Senate has yet to vote on the Act, but of course, there is expected to be some opposition to the bill. It probably won’t pass as is. They will have to vote and revise and then vote again.
The Senate reconvenes in July, so we should know more then.
Hopefully we see another round of SOMETHING coming to us soon. I, for one, could really use the monetary relief right now.
It would be appreciated in our household for sure!!! My husband got hit pretty hard with the virus! Took him into the ER on March 26th. 12 hrs later he was placed on the vent for 30 days. We almost lost him a few times. He also had pneumonia and mersa! He is now currently in a rehab center learning to sit stand and walk again! We are down to 67% of his income. We have three kids. Have not seen him but for 15 min since March. Don’t know how long he’ll be out of work. I work 15 hrs in an elementary school but don’t know if I’ll be returning as we have yet to hear our schools plans yet. And I need to be available to take care of my kids and husband when he returns home.
