Why The Documents Were Finally Released

The documents are the first in more than 200 that are expected to be unsealed over the next few days, thanks in part of the defamation lawsuit filed by victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre.

In December, U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska ordered the documents to be released and unsealed. She did give people until January 1, 2024 to appeal the order in case they did not want their name to be revealed.

What The Documents Say So Far

According to reports, the documents mostly talk about actions taken by Epstein to the victims.

However, a 2016 deposition from Johanna Sjoberg, who is one of Jeffrey Epstein’s victims, mentions politicians and figureheads who reside in the U.S. and abroad.

Names Mentioned in Epstein’s Released Court Documents

Now keep in mind that some of these names mentioned have no context to them or it is unclear if these people had much to do with the actions of Epstein including the victims and many other young girls but these names have been at least mentioned in the court documents.

Prince Andrew—the younger brother of King Charles III. He has been accused of participating in Epstein’s scheme.

Barclays chief executive Jes Staley – Accused and resigned from his position after.

Former President Bill Clinton – He was mentioned in the documents released on Wednesday, in Johanna Sjoberg’s testimony that Epstein had told her “Clinton likes them young” referring to girls.

Former President Donald Trump – He was also mentioned in Sjoberg’s 2016 deposition and while him and Epstein were known for being friends, he wasn’t necessarily accused of participating in Epstein’s actions.

Michael Jackson – Mentioned in the documents but not accused of anything.

Sarah Kellen – Accused as “a criminally responsible participant” in Epstein’s scheme.

Leslie Wexner – the billionaire founder of L Brands (which owns Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works) was mentioned in Ghislaine Maxwell’s deposition but was not accused of anything.

Celebrities Bruce Willis, Cameron Diaz, Cate Blanchett, Kevin Spacey, Naomi Campbell, and Leonardo DiCaprio have been mentioned but have NOT be accused of being involved with Epstein in any way (still curious why they were mentioned though).
