Hot Cocoa Bombs are all the rage right now and it’s basically a chocolate ball that is filled with hot cocoa and marshmallows.

You simply plop it into some warm milk and watch it melt into a hot cocoa mix. YUM!

While you can certainly buy a hot cocoa bomb, they cost around $5-$10 each but you can make your own for much, much less than that and have plenty leftover to share with the entire family!

Ingredients You Will Need:

  • Chocolate Chips (you can use white, dark, or even milk chocolate chips)
  • Mini Marshmallows
  • Hot Cocoa (I prefer Ghirardelli or Swiss Miss)
  • Silicone Sphere Mold

Instructions:

First, start by melting your chocolate chips in the microwave in 30 second increments (be careful not to burn the chocolate). You can also use the double boiler method.

Once melted, use a spoon to fill the cavities of the mold. You want to spread the chocolate up the sides of the mold. You can wait a few minutes and then apply a second coat of chocolate to make them a little thicker.

Stick into the freezer for about 15-20 minutes and allow to harden.

Once hardened, remove the chocolate spheres by pushing gently on the backside of the mold.

Fill one chocolate side with a tablespoon of hot cocoa and mini marshmallows.

Apply another side to the sphere by heating up a plate in the microwave and dipping the side into it to make it a little melted. Use your finger to wipe the chocolate around the ball to secure both halves together.

Allow this to harden and when you’re ready, stick it into a cup and pour hot milk over it or drop into a cup of warm milk.
