I, legit, have a new favorite TikTok personality, and that person is, Body Positivity Advocate, Ms. Mary Fran Donnelly — have you heard of her?
She is a social studies teacher with a bit of a potty mouth (be warned if you have kiddos around).
She is completely relatable, has an infectious personality, and she is someone I could totally hang with on a regular basis.
Mary has been posting her body-positive love-yourself messages on TikTok for about a year, but she just got noticed for her series of videos on traveling as a fat person.
Good Lord, I can relate, and she is SPOT ON when it comes to EVERYTHING for fluffy people things like sitting in an airplane, trying to shower, and even — the dreaded — chairs that you are afraid will crumble underneath your weight.
She makes light of the situation, because that’s what we have to do sometimes — the alternative is crying, which just might add a layer of ruin to the circumstances.
I cope through humor. I was making light of a situation that is a very real stress for fat, plus-size people… my sister and I could only laugh at how absurd it was.

I don’t travel alone because I worry about strangers being upset about sitting next to me on a plane. Will the seat be uncomfortable? Will the seat belt fit? Will the towel fit at the hotel? Will the chairs at the pool hold me? Will the tables at the hotel restaurant be comfortable?”
