Netflix’s New Christmas Movie Was Super Cheesy But I Actually Enjoyed It

If you have read any of my reviews so far, you’ve learned that I do NOT like cheesy. Hallmark Channel movies are a big no for me. Emily in Paris was a no for me, even the current Netflix Top Ten film, Operation Christmas Drop, was a no for me.

Call me a scrooge if you want, but I need some sort of real storyline to what I watch. And far better acting. So when I saw the latest trending holiday flick, Midnight at the Magnolia, I was prepared to write about another massively cheesy movie that wasn’t worth watching.

However, this one has me on the fence for some reason. Yes, it’s cheesy. Yes, there is a lot of poor acting. But the storyline actually got me. It was believable, and when the two main actors acted out their changing feelings for each other, it was about as believable as it gets.

I hate to say it, but I actually enjoyed watching this. I had some cringe moments on the cheese factor, but all in all, I liked where they went with it. And that says a lot for an anti Hallmark Channel person. Maybe it’s the Christmas spirit.

So although this isn’t a movie I would watch over and over or anything, I do think it’s a cute one for the season. Maybe I’m going soft. Have you seen it yet? Let us know what you thought below.
