Get ready to take your next vacation to the high seas because Disney Cruise Line Has A New Ship and A Private Island Coming and it looks magical!
This past weekend at the Disney D23 Expo, Disney Cruise Line announced their 5th cruise ship to set sail.
With the help of Tinkerbell to reveal the name, the new cruise ship will be called Disney Wish which aligns with the rest of the Disney Cruise Line Ships: Magic, Wonder, Dream and Fantasy.
“There couldn’t be a better name for our incredible new ship, because making wishes come true is part of the Disney DNA, and is at the heart of so many of our cherished stories.”Chapek and Disney “imagineer” Joe Rohde
The new ship will be a three-story atrium and be identified with Rapunzel on the ship’s stern.
The Disney Wish is scheduled for delivery in late 2021, and is expected to begin cruises beginning in January 2022.
The ship will feature 1,250 guest staterooms and have a total passenger capacity of 4,000.
In addition to the new cruise ship, Disney will also have a new private island the ship will set sail to called Castaway Cay in the Bahamas.
Although Disney will be building on this island, preserving the ecosystem is of importance and during an interview, they said:
“The Lighthouse Point site is so beautiful and so full of nature that we want to preserve this and use our designs to call attention to the extraordinary quality of the place itself – a place of natural beauty, with a rich and fascinating cultural tradition.
We will be directly involved in conservation efforts to preserve and protect the environment that creates this beauty, and we will be working with artists of every kind … to create a unique destination that is rooted in Bahamian culture and imbued with Disneymagic.”Chapek and Disney “imagineer” Joe Rohde
So, there you have it a new Disney Cruise is coming and I couldn’t be more excited! This will be a nice addition to the Disney Airline that will be hitting the sky’s soon too!
