We just left Disney World. Don’t be jealous.

It was about 975º, the air was oppressively thick — like 325% humidity — and, of course, it was crazy crowded.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, we were lucky to have the chance to be there. It’s just that the entire situation really tested the Jesus in us.

One thing, however, that was a nice reprieve from the heat and the crowds was the Country Bear Jamboree.

Those bears have been a constant my entire life. The songs, the blinking wall art, the cool auditorium where you can sit and rest your tired, aching feet…

The Country Bear Jamboree hasn’t changed one little bit in the 52 years since the Magic Kingdom first opened its doors.

But, that’s about to change.

The OG “Country Bear Jamboree” Is Changing

Those Country Bears are getting a modern facelift after 52 years, and some may say it’s about time.

Disney

Seriously. I don’t know whether to be excited that something new is on the way, or completely heartbroken that the nostalgia is about to be gone forever.

The brand new show will be called the “Country Bear Musical Jamboree,” and it will make its debut in 2024.

Rehearsals are now underway! Country Bear Jamboree is getting new songs and a new act reinterpreting favorite Disney songs in 2024.

According to WDW News Today, “the content of the show will change, the beloved characters that have become synonymous with the Country Bear Jamboree will not (except for apparently Liver Lips McGrowl).”

The “Country Bear Musical Jamboree” will apparently be a nod to the musical revues of Nashville, with the music we know and love from Disney.

It sounds kinda fab, but I’m still a bit bummed that my kids won’t get to experience the OG Country Bear Jamboree.

Change is always hard, but as Walt Disney, himself, said:

The park means a lot to me in that it’s something that will never be finished. Something that I can keep developing, keep plussing and adding to—it’s alive. It will be a live, breathing thing that will need changes.
