My not so good Halle-Day

Okay, so her fever stayed up pretty much all night… and since it was Friday, I figured that I needed to go on ahead and take her in… well… we kinda of “woke up” about 9:30, and we had to be at the doctor’s at 11:00… so I got her to drink a little… then she fell asleep… I basically threw on some pants, and then we were off at about 10:20 (my doc is kinda far away, but she is great… so I just drive it) I get there, and she sees Hal, and says “well… that just isn’t halle at all” I want to run some tests on her… she was running a high fever and basically crying any time I wasn’t holding her. So… they do a cathetar and then try to take blood… they try one arm…. nothing… then the other arm… nothing… while they are doing this her fever spikes (apparently having a fever kinda closes the veins so that was the problem) so we decide to give her some Motrin, and get her to drink some Gatorade (they had some blue gatorade there) so… hal and I sit in the little patient room for about 45 minutes while she drinks Gatorade and sleeps… and her fever goes down… so they go back in with the needle, and bring in like the blood taking expert nurse from another doctor’s office and they finally get the blood… then the doc says she wants to go on ahead and give her the antibiotics shots… so she has to take one in each leg… this means halle was poked today a total of FIVE times…. so we wait around for fifteen minutes after the shot, and finally get to go home….

Now, here is the best part of the story 🙂

So… I don’t want to put her pants back on her, and she was just in whatever shirt I could come up with… so she is wearing this little black shirt and no pants… she has five very colorful band-aids all over her body… her hair is just sticking straight up from all the fever spiking… her cheeks are bright red… and her mouth is BLUE I am talking like electric blue….:) I can’t even imagine what people must have thought as we strolled by on our way out to the car! My doc’s office is in a hospital…. so there were tons of people there… I bet they were all praying for the little blue mouthed kid.

Poor Hal…. what a day!
