Guy Fieri Is Giving $500 To Laid Off Restaurant Workers. Here is How You Can Apply.

Most of us know people that work in the restaurant business and how this has impacted them as well as many others. It is so sad to see so many people struggling.

Guy Fieri the amazing Chef and TV personality has partnered with The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.

My entire career has been in the restaurant business. From bussing tables to flambé captain to dishwasher to chef…I’ve done it all. I’ve also spent the better part of the last 15 years traveling this great country meeting other folks who’ve dedicated their lives to this business and let me tell you something, they are the hardest working, most real deal workers you’ve ever met…the heartbeats of their communities. But they need our help and with Restaurant Relief America, we can serve up some support when these restaurant employees need it most…right now.

They are raising money for a Restaurant Employee Relief Fund. This will help restaurant employees who are now out of work due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

100% of the money raised will go to workers that have lost their jobs during this crazy time. Restaurant workers that need help can apply online for a $500 check that can be used towards groceries, housing, utilities, childcare, and other needs.

These will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis to those that qualify. You can apply on April 2nd. I know that $500 doesn’t seem like a lot, but it helps. Every bit helps.

To be eligible, you must have worked full or part-time in the restaurant industry for at least 90 days this past year. Your primary income this past year must be from the restaurant industry, and you must show a decreased loss in wages or loss of your job on or after March 10th, 2020.

You can learn more and apply for a grant when applications open here on April 2nd. If you are in a position to help, you can donate to the fund here.

I am a server/bartender at Buffalo wild wings. my last day of work was March 15,2020. I have an 8 year old daughter. Bdubs is my only source of income so paying bills is a real struggle right now. I am also in the middle of a custody battle so paying my lawyer is an even bigger struggle.

Thank you for everything you are going for us. My coworkers and I work for a wonderful woman that made her dreams come true about two years ago. With a hug and the kiss every morning she greets us. Her hands are tied at this point. So thank you for everything you're trying to do for us and all the restaurants affected.
