Macy’s Just Announced That Santa Won’t Be Coming To Stores This Year
I am sure we all knew this but 2020 sucks!
One more tally of things to add this year – Santa won’t be coming to Macy’s this year.
The announcement just came via Macy’s where they stated that Santa Claus won’t be greeting kids at Santaland’s in stores this year due to the coronavirus. This interrupts a holiday tradition started nearly 160 years ago!
While Santa won’t be making his way into Macy’s stores this year, Macy’s is still making it as fun as possible this holiday season.
Macy’s will be offering a free online experience on its website at the end of November, where families can play games, get a virtual tour of Santa’s workshop and take a selfie with Santa.
“Moving to a virtual engagement will safely bring the magic of Santa Claus to children of all ages this year,” Macy’s said in a statement to The Associated Press.
So, it sounds like things will look just a little different this year which is something I think we’ve all been prepared for.
