‘Planes, Trains & Automobiles’ Is Getting A Remake Starring Will Smith and Kevin Hart
Have you ever watched the original Planes, Trains & Automobiles? If not, add it to your watch list now because it is one of the best comedy movies ever! It’s a John Hughes film that came out in 1987 starring Steve Martin and John Candy.
Now, normally I am not a fan of remaking movies that are already perfection, which this movie definitely was. There were so many great films that came out in the 80s! They just don’t make them like that anymore! But, I may be persuaded to give this remake a watch just to see what they do with it.
Will Smith and Kevin Hart will be the stars of the remake! Both of them are very funny and I’ve always have been a fan of Will Smith!
Hartbeat Productions and Westbook Studios will be the co-producers of the film and Aeysha Carr will be writing the script.
In the original film, Steve Martin and John Candy are pretty much forced to travel together when their flights home for Thanksgiving are canceled. Just like most of the great comedies from the 80s, there are a lot of outrageous and hilarious moments of pure chaos.
Neal Page is a complete control freak that is paired up with a goofy guy that talks to much. In order to get home, they have to work together and they are such an unlikely pair!
So far there hasn’t been a firm release window set for the remake with Will Smith and Kevin Hart. With the coronavirus throwing a wrench in everything, it could definitely affect releasing a timeline for the new movie.
I’m a little cringey about messing with something that was already so perfect. However, younger fans may be drawn to the remake that has actors that they know and love.
Tell me what you think? Will this be something you will watch? I feel a little how Steve Martin is looking below…
