Bruh! This is a concept I can really get behind, no cap.

Yeah, I don’t know why I said that. I was trying to be cool and use current teenager slang. I failed.

But you know what doesn’t fail?

Sally Beauty has come up with a new concept where they will actually have stylists on hand that will walk you through how to dye your hair, and I can’t even tell you how happy this makes me.

I have wanted to dabble in the world of creatively coloring my own hair. But, y’all. I am too scared I’m going to turn my hair into cotton candy, and have it all fall out.

Let’s be honest. There is no way my current stylist is going to teach me how to DIY my own hair.

That would ultimately mean less money for her, and I’m sure she wouldn’t be down with that scenario.

BUT, the entire job of the stylists at this new Sally Beauty concept store is to lead you through the steps it takes to DIY your own hair.

This new Sally Beauty store will offer the SAME products you rush out to Sally’s to buy, but it will also have a salon section with stylists whose sole purpose in life (at least WORK life) is to teach you how to do your own hair.

Now, they aren’t there JUST to teach you how to DIY color treatments on your hair.

If you are having trouble styling it, they will guide you through that process as well.

We really recognized there was a piece missing and it was that hands-on education — When you go to a salon today, quite frequently you don’t have any idea what’s actually being put on your hair, so in a lot of ways, the intent here is to take away some of the mystery and replace it with competence.

The way it works: clients book online before coming into the studio.

Once there, a stylist will help them pick out the products they will need at home to DIY their hair.

But, it doesn’t stop there. The stylist can get them started with the mixing and coloring processing while in the salon.

They literally can video themselves as they’re doing it on their own device so they can take it home, they can review it — It’s all part of how the salon has been designed to be really DIY-centric, as opposed to a traditional salon today, where you just sit in a chair and get your hair done.

Wouldn’t this make a fun girls’ day activity? You could grab some mimosas at brunch, and then head to Sally’s Salon to DIY your hair.

According to the Denton Record-Chronicle, this new concept salon “also offers small group classes for all-over color and root touch-ups.”

Also in the works are free workshops led by stylists — clocking in at 45 minutes to an hour each — which will cover everything from basic hair styling to jumping on the latest hair color trends.

Now, this DIY concept store is currently only in Denton, TX, but they are aiming to open 5 new DIY concept stores this year.

I don’t know. It might be high time for a road trip to Texas!!
