Hosting a party is fun if you’re used to hosting, or love having a lot of people over. But if you’re trying to host for the first time, or maybe crowds aren’t your thing, it can be a bit intimidating. Especially when it comes to foods to serve. Do you come up with a menu? How much do you make? What will your guests even like? While putting out trays filled with crackers, and meats and cheeses is a completely acceptable solution, here’s an easy ‘make’ that’ll leave your guests feeling impressed: stacked grape salad. This treat has all the flavors of a grape salad, but in easy to pick up bite sized pieces. The best part is you don’t have to be Martha Stewart to pull this one off, but your friends will think you had her help. Enjoy!

Unbeatable New Year Party Treat: Stacked Grape Salad

What You Need To Make Stacked Grape Salad:

  • 1 baguette
  • bag of spring mix lettuce
  • red or black grapes
  • fresh blue cheese
  • brie
  • pitted green olives
(your favorite flavor from the olive bar, or manzanilla work just fine!)
  • olive oil for drizzle (I like lemon infused!)
  • Toothpicks or small skewers to hold in place

How To Make Stacked Grape Salad:

This part’s easy. Simply slice the baguette into 1″ slices, or thicker depending on your preference.

Start with a thin slice of brie, then a piece of spring lettuce.

Next, a very thin slice of blue cheese, one washed grape, and top with an olive.

Hold together with a toothpick or skewer.

Lightly drizzle the whole tray with infused olive oil, and keep decanter of olive oil to the side for additional topping.

Serve and enjoy!

Pro Tip: This makes a great party tray because it’s beautiful to look at, but the flavors also work really well together. The lettuce is put in place to separate the flavors of the brie from the blue cheese, and if you don’t like spring mix you can use whatever lettuce you like best.

Another easy stackable salad to try is caprese: same bread, but this time stack basil on the bottom, then a grape tomato, and top with a mozzarella pearl. Drizzle this one with a mixture of balsamic oil and olive oil and your friends will be delighted! Enjoy!
