Starbucks Will No Longer Sell Newspapers In Their Stores

If you enjoy catching up with the world the old school way (via newspaper) with your favorite Starbucks drink you might be sad to know that Starbucks Will No Longer Sell Newspapers In Their Stores.

Back in July Starbucks made the announcement that they would stop selling newspapers in their stores nationwide in September (this month).

The reason?

Many people were taking the papers off the shelves, reading them and then either taking the paper without paying or leaving them on the table without paying.

“As part of our continuous efforts to enhance the overall experience in our stores for both partners and customers, we are removing select fixtures from our retail lobby in September,” a Starbucks spokeswoman said.

“In addition to newspaper stands, we will also remove shelving fixtures that display whole- bean coffee and different grab-and-go snacks,” the spokeswoman said.

Honestly, I get it. If people can’t be honest and pay, then Starbucks has to do something about it.

It’d even be awesome if Starbucks just allowed people to read the newspaper for free while in the store and asked them to leave it for others. Just an idea…
